The Cimbel Hotel
January 2022
This has probably the most perfect location for any hotel Benidorm, a nice-looking building situated halfway down Levante Beach.
Went in to see what the prices they were charging direct, the young lady in reception was so polite and efficient we were sold there and then.
Booked into a very nice room on the eleventh floor fully equipped including a mini bar, and other things you might expect from a hotel with four stars plus. (No USB Sockets)
The view from the balcony was something special and the weather was perfect for this time of year especially at sunrise and set., beautiful.
The Hotel Bar and Piano lounge is a very nice area comfy although the seats at the bar were a little unusual but after one of the Cimbel’s gins you’d never notice.
Always a warm friendly greeting from the bar staff offering a good selection of quality drinks with likeable measures from two very professional waiters Pedro Fresneda and Eloy.
Restaurant
There were pianist playing fantastic music on two occasions and above their heads was a large TV showing sport on both nights. That is poor management and we felt sorry for the artist performing.
This is a lovely place, but the lights are so bright in the bar it’s hard to relax with a drink, surely, they could dim things down in the evening to help create atmosphere. Maybe they are looking for an airport departure lounge effect.
Pedro took the time to show us a fantastic underground entertainments area for shows and other events, sadly it was closed owing to Covid. (Weddings comes to mind, perfect)
The only let downs with this hotel was the cooked food, black bacon in a tray full of oil, unrecognisable meat and veg dishes and one night a set menu with no choice.
Possibly one of the best hotel positions on Levante Beach and we will definitely return but try and book ‘Room Only’ because its B&B minimum at the moment, then your financially obliged to eat there.
A must stay hotel.
