Hotel Chamarel
The small town of Denia has always been a favourite of ours and brings back memories of the first ferries starting to the Balearic Islands.
We visited the Art Boutique Hotel Chamarel to see it for ourselves out of interest and from the many different recommendations in all sectors of the travel pages.
Finding it is not a problem although this is not a drive to and drop off situation as the hotel is down one of the many wonderful back streets you will find in Denia
Super old, converted Mansion from the 19th century with décor to match throughout the hotel all furnished perfectly, it’s like stepping back in time with the creaky floors and wonderful winding staircase. (No Lift)
On arrival we were given the cast-iron key to the room, this would never fit in your pocket, so you must leave at reception when going out, but not a problem the little bar-reception area was attended and worked perfectly.

Breakfast was included (Continental Only) was well presented with tasty fresh products, the reception area was set out to accommodate everyone in a restaurant style.
There is a beautiful internal style patio surround by plantation although mostly used in warmer times as this was January and not in use.
Lots of olde ceramics floors everywhere with old window frames leading out onto a tight balcony, at night you can close the old wooden daylight shutters (No double glazing here).
Only stayed one night but the service and attention to detail in everything was very good, the staff are very friendly and offered a good service plus the whole place was spotlessly clean.
Hotel Chamarel is situated in the very centre of the town close to a taxi rank, which is useful if using Balearia Ferry Port to the Balearic Islands.
The Art Boutique Hotel Chamarel is must try…
