EU Entry/Exit System (EES) is now fully operational (since 10 April 2026) and continues to cause longer queues at many Schengen airports. Travellers must undergo biometric checks (face scan + fingerprints).
ETIAS, the new €20 pre travel authorisation, has been delayed until late 2026. You cannot apply yet.
UK ETA will be strictly enforced from February 2026, affecting non UK visitors entering the UK.

Barcelona (BCN) Ground force staff on indefinite strike since August.
Malaga (AGP) airport cleaning staff also on indefinite strike.
Madrid (MAD) baggage system staff striking on multiple days weekly.
