It is adding aircraft at the base after securing extra slots.

It enables Jet2 to add Stansted flights and holidays to a large number of destinations.

These include the Balearics, Croatia, Greece and Turkey.

The expansion means it will now operate over 225 flights to 42 destinations from the airport next summer.

There are over 2.1 million seats on sale for summer 2023, representing a capacity increase of more than 10%.

Jet2 will increase the size of its fleet at Stansted to 16 for the peak summer holiday period.

It  increases capacity to 11 destinations with two brand new city break destinations to Rome and Athens.
