The best and worst airports for flight delays have been revealed.
Birmingham was the worst based on the longest average delay per departing flight.
It was top for a second consecutive year.
The PA analysed Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) data from all scheduled and chartered departures.
The stats do not take into account cancelled flights.
Birmingham flights were on average 30 minutes late in 2022.
That was double compared to the previous year.
“The start of 2022 was devastated by Covid,” the airport said.
It added flights are ‘performing smoothly’ so far this year.
Birmingham is the seventh-busiest airport in the UK.
Manchester and Doncaster Sheffield were next with an average 29 minutes’ delay.
East Midlands was the most punctual in 2022 with 13 minutes’ delay.
CAA head of consumer Anna Bowles said: “Our data tells us that too many passengers faced disappointing levels of delays last year.”
“It is important consumers experience a high-quality service from both airlines and airports this year.”
But will still rip people off when dropping passengers at the airport.
